About Captain Bringdown

Captain Bringdown bookings started late 2008 with only one purpose: support relatively unknown bands by offering the possibility to come over and tour in Holland and Belgium. Instead of only booking acts across the Benelux, Captain Bringdown also takes care of the promotion of the shows and tours being booked. From time to time Captain Bringdown will organize their own gigs as well.

Where does the name come from? In an especially delightful episode of the Simpsons, Bart screams to his grandfather “There come Captain Bringdown and the Buzzkillers”. Hence, a booking agency was born!

Ahoy reader! At the moment I am the sole captain of this ship, hoping to recruit more buzz killers in the near future. I’ve started Captain Bringdown late 2008. However, I’ve been actively booking shows and tours for bands as well as organizing gigs since 2005. Before and during this period I have also been active as a punk rock critic at webzines such as punkupdates.com and europunk.be as well as my own websites punkhour.com and europunk.net. I’ve hosted a local radio show in the south of Holland called The Punk Hour for three seasons between 2004 and 2006. Since 2006 I have been a student at the Fontys University of Applied Sciences, studying International Event, Music and Entertainment Studies.
